What the vcard qr code generator does
A plain QR code that carries a name only shows that name as text. This one encodes the name together with a phone number, an email address, a website, and a company or title as a vCard — the contact-card format every iPhone and Android camera recognises — so scanning it opens the phone's own “add contact” screen with the fields already filled in. The code is drawn in your browser and nothing you type leaves it.
How to use it
- 1Type the name. Everything else — phone, email, website, company, title — is optional; leave blank what you do not want to share.
- 2The code redraws as you type. Scan it with a phone camera to check the contact card looks right.
- 3Download the PNG and print it on a business card, a badge, a door sign, or a slide.
Good to know
- The contact is stored inside the code itself, not on a server, so the printed code keeps working with no link, no account, and no expiry.
- Because the whole card is inside the code, every extra field makes it denser. Codes come out at 512px with medium error correction; keep the fields short and the code stays easy to scan even at business-card size.
- If you want a code you can update after printing — a new phone number, a new job — point a plain QR code at a Nameplate page instead and change the page, not the print.
